'We could lose everything': Passport delays cost 2 women
Two Maryland women who applied for new passports more than 12 weeks ago are out thousands of dollars -- and are stuck at home -- because of delays with their applications. The cruise ship Connie Raynor and Vicki Heller were supposed to be on with 75 of their oldest friends left Wednesday from Rome. It's a trip the women planned a year ago -- and they're not on the boat because they didn't receive their passports in time. It took six days to buy a brand-new wardrobe for the trip, four days to wait for prescription sunglasses and three days to get approved for TSA PreCheck. But 12 weeks wasn't enough to get their passports renewed for their vacation.
