CPSO: Blanchard man allegedly shoots at deputies, drone during welfare call

BLANCHARD, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A resident of Blanchard was arrested on multiple felony counts after police responded to the home of a woman requesting a welfare check on Saturday.

According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to assist the Blanchard Police Department at 7259 Dixie Blanchard Road.

A woman reported that her boyfriend, identified as Christopher Lee, 32, had gone into the woods beside their home with a gun and fired a shot. A CPSO drone unit was deployed to search for Lee, and he reportedly fired shots at both the drone and the deputies.

When he was prevented from re-entering the home to reload his firearm, deputies secured the inside of the house to protect the woman from danger. Lee allegedly charged CPSO deputies and BPD officers with a metal chair. After that time, he was tased and arrested.

Lee was arrested and faces multiple counts of attempted murder. This is an ongoing investigation.
