Denver International Airport upgrades parking system: What you need to know

DENVER (KDVR) – On Tuesday, the Denver International Airport will start to change all the parking systems, and for the next month, you’ll have to pay attention.

The airport said it is upgrading its parking system to an easy and more efficient system with “Flash machines.”

These machines increase the likelihood of consistent receipt printing and they create thermal-printed barcodes on tickets which last up to 30 days in sunlight, compared to the old ink-printed tickets which are more likely to fade, according to the airport.

The airport said the process is expected to take until Aug. 22, which means that during this time, there will be both the old and new equipment in place.

DIA said that drivers who enter through the old system, pictured below, need to leave through the old system.

If you don’t remember which one you entered through, you can also look at your ticket.

DIA said the parking areas and exit lanes will have signs to direct drivers to each exit lane.

In about a month, the new parking system should be fully in place and all parking at the airport will be converted to the new system.
