Denver weather: Temps near triple digits, Pinpoint Weather Alert Day

DENVER (KDVR) — Most of Colorado will see mainly sunny skies on Tuesday with highs nearing the triple digits in the Eastern Plains in Denver’s weather forecast.

Tuesday is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day because of the heat and the wildfire smoke near Loveland. Temperatures will be just shy of 100 degrees for most of the metro and wildfire smoke will be a concern for the northern Front Range.

The mainly sunny skies are back on Tuesday with light winds.

High heat is expected with highs reaching the lower triple digits across the plains this afternoon.

There is a heat advisory in effect from 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. in the metro area. Air quality alerts are in effect for the northern Front Range until 4 p.m. Fire weather warnings are also in effect from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Weather tonight: Clear and mild

Skies will stay clear Tuesday night as low stay very mild. Overnight lows will dip into the lower 60s with light winds.

Looking ahead: Staying toasty

Wednesday will still be hot but not as hot with highs staying in the upper 90s.

Sunny skies stick with the forecast through the middle of the week with the high heat lingering. Thursday has above-average highs in the middle 90s and shower chances in the southern plains.

Friday also has toasty highs in the middle 90s with a few afternoon clouds and the chance for a shower.

Saturday begins the weekend with a mix of sun and clouds, highs in the middle 90s and the chance for a late-day storm.

Sunday keeps the extra clouds by the afternoon with highs in the middle 90s.

The heat and above-average highs linger into the start of the workweek with Monday highs hitting the middle 90s with partly sunny skies.
