Deputies in DougCo stop off-road vehicle for alleged DUI

DENVER (KDVR) — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said it stopped an off-road vehicle in Castle Pines on Friday and reportedly charged the driver with a DUI.

According to DCSO, on Friday night, two deputies stopped the off-road vehicle, which had allegedly run a red light.

The person driving the off-road vehicle was charged with DUI, DUI with excessive blood alcohol content, disregarding a traffic control device and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

DCSO said on July 4 that deputies would be out in force throughout the holiday weekend.

Sheriff Darren Weekly said the office had zero tolerance for DUIs.

“Our commitment is to keep our roads safe, and we will be vigilant in ensuring that anyone driving under the influence is held accountable,” he said.
