Dick’s Last Resort in Marina City is gone

CHICAGO — It’s closing time for the legendary Dick’s Last Resort restaurant in Chicago.

After moving from the lock to the river a few years back, the restaurant reportedly suffered during the pandemic.

Its Marina City location, at 315 N. Dearborn Street, is now closed for good.

Replacing Dick’s Last Resort is the East Coast chain, Legal Sea Foods, a New England-based dining brand.

“We’re transforming the Marina City space into an immersive New England dining experience,” Matt King, president and COO of Legal Sea Foods, said in June.

The company adds they are “now open along the vibrant Riverwalk in the bustling River North neighborhood at the famous Marina Towers! Legal’s first Midwest location features two floors of upscale casual New England vibes with sweeping riverfront views and outdoor space.”
