Duplex catches on fire Fourth of July night in Harvey
HARVEY, La. (WGNO) — Firefighters worked to put out a blaze at a duplex in Harvey on Thursday, July 4.
The Harvey Volunteer Fire Company #2 reported crews responded to the scene around 9:14 p.m. on Orange Blossom Lane. While on their way, they learned that people were still inside.
STPSO deputies ‘dodging waterspouts’ this Fourth of July
Jefferson Parish deputies arrived on the scene and verified that everyone inside was able to escape.
The volunteer fire department had 15 firefighters work the scene for about 45 minutes before the fire was extinguished.
One needed to be treated on the scene for heat exhaustion. One of the people inside the home was treated at the scene, as well.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
