Erie Humane Society welcomes Tyler Farr for annual Rock & Rescue concert

(WJET/WFXP)– The Erie Humane Society is inviting the community to join them for a concert benefitting local shelter pets featuring platinum country music singer Tyler Farr and other special guests.

The Humane Society’s Rock & Rescue Charity Concert is set for this Saturday, August 10 at their shelter located at 2407 Zimmerly Road with openers going on at 6 p.m. followed by Farr at 7 p.m.

Opening acts for the concert include Lewis Brice and Tyler Braden with festivities going on from 5 to 11 p.m. however VIP ticket holders will be able to get in a half hour earlier with other benefits.

About 2,000 people are expected for the annual event with money raised going toward the shelter’s pets and their Shelter to Service program which helps unadopted dogs become service animals which are then awarded to a local veteran.

As part of the festivities, the Humane Society’s fourth Shelter to Service Dog, Tucker, will be officially awarded to the Millcreek Police Department with the “passing of the leash”.

Attendees will also get to enjoy food and drinks from local vendors like A Waffle Miracle, Underdog BBQ and Passalinqua’s Pizzeria. Alcohol will also be available to anyone 21+ with ID and will require a wristband.

Parking for the event is free on a first come first served basis with additional parking available at First Alliance Church; EHS will be running a shuttle from the church to the shelter grounds from 4:30 to 11 p.m.
