Everything you need to know about Kamala Harris' upcoming North Carolina campaign rallies

Following her first presidential debate of the election season, Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to North Carolina, a key swing state, for a pair of rallies scheduled for Sept. 12. The rallies will kick off Harris’ “New Way Forward” tour, a four-day swing state tour with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz that will also include Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

North Carolina is expected to be a highly competitive race, with Donald Trump narrowly winning the state in 2020 with 49.9% of the vote. The most recent polling averages from RealClearPolling put Harris only a tenth of a percent behind Trump in the Tar Heel State.

Here’s what to know about Harris’ North Carolina rallies.

Charlotte

Harris’ first stop will be an afternoon campaign in Charlotte, a city that has gained attention from both candidates this election cycle. The exact time for the rally has not been publicly announced, but members of the public who would like to attend can register online at mobilize.us/ncvictory2024. The event location will be provided to guests upon their RSVP.

Voters are required to RSVP to attend, but an RSVP does not guarantee admission to the event, the website said.

Greensboro

Following her Charlotte rally, Harris will travel to Greensboro for an evening rally, marking her first visit to the city since July and her first as the presidential candidate. She will be joined by musical guest Brothers Osborne, according to Rolling Stone, a duo who previously performed at the 2023 White House Fourth of July concert.

As with the event in Charlotte, the campaign did not release an exact time or location for the rally, but those who would like to attend can register online at mobilize.us/ncvictory2024.
