ExxonMobil to become title sponsor of Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – ExxonMobil will become the title sponsor of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta starting in 2025 and continuing through 2029, event organizers announced Thursday.
The event will also be named the ExxonMobil Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.

“We are proud to have a sponsor and partner in ExxonMobil. After years of working together, we are excited to collaborate with ExxonMobil to continue Balloon Fiesta’s mission to support the sport of ballooning, the City of Albuquerque, and the State of New Mexico nationally and internationally,” Judith Nakamura, president of Balloon Fiesta Board of Directors, stated in a news release. “This multi-year partnership will help showcase the magic of Balloon Fiesta and the wonders of New Mexico.”
One of the largest oil companies in the world, ExxonMobil has sponsored the Balloon Fiesta since 2019 but will now take a much larger role in promoting the event.
“We’re thrilled to expand our sponsorship for an event that means so much to the Albuquerque community, the state and to our employees,” Bart Cahir, senior vice president of ExxonMobil Upstream Unconventional, stated in the news release.
The last title sponsor was Kodak from 1992 to 2001, according to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta’s website. This year’s event is scheduled to launch from Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque on Oct. 5-13.
The event brings hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Land of Enchantment each year.
