Fairview plane crash left thousands powerless
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Thousands of people lost power Saturday morning when a small plane crashed in a residential area of Fairview, sending debris in a wide area.
The crash happened around 10:20 a.m. when the plane went down near the Troutdale airport, officials with the Port of Portland said. On the way down, the plane hit a power pole before crashing into a townhome building.
That caused the power outage that left tens of thousands of Portland General Electric customers in the dark. However, by 3:52 p.m., PGE reported only 45 customers were still without power.
