Family of Augusta man killed in shooting offers $10,000 reward for information
The family of an Augusta man killed more than a year ago is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for his death.
Kevin Coatney Jr., 20, of Augusta, in January 2022 was shot and killed in a parking lot while attempting to leave Club 706 on Deans Bridge Road. Three others were injured in the shooting, according to previous reporting.
Coatney graduated from Westside High School in 2020 and created his own clothing brand, according to his mother, Artia Jones.

“He liked to sew and make his own kind of clothes,” Jones said in February 2022. “He was thinking about moving to Atlanta to start going to a fashion school, so he can better his brand.”
Jones also said her son enjoyed riding his dirt bike and had even launched an organization, Augusta Bike Life, to try to get people to put their guns down and try the sport, according to previous reporting.
