Fayetteville PD Deputy Chief retires following DWI arrest, replacement announced
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/FOX24) — Former Deputy Chief of Police Bradley Renfro has officially retired following his arrest for driving while intoxicated on June 26.
Fayetteville Police Chief Mike Reynolds released the following statement about Renfro’s retirement:
“Today, I announce the retirement of Deputy Chief of Police Brad Renfro, which was effective Friday, July 5th, 2024. Deputy Chief Renfro served the Fayetteville Police Department and our community with dedication and distinction for over 28 years, and I am grateful for his unwavering commitment and leadership. The men and women of the Fayetteville Police Department thank Deputy Chief Renfro for his service and wish him well in his retirement.
As I mentioned last week, Deputy Chief Renfro’s arrest for Driving While Intoxicated on June 27th was a disappointment, and this incident is not reflective of the values and standards of the Fayetteville Police Department. We are committed to maintaining the highest level of transparency, integrity, and accountability.”
Fayetteville deputy chief arrested for DWI
The Fayetteville Police Department announced Tad Scott as their new Deputy Chief of Police on July 8.
Scott started his career with the Fayetteville Police Department in August 1995, according to a news release. In 2000, he became a detective in the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and was promoted to sergeant in 2004.
He then served as a sergeant and lieutenant in various divisions, including Night Shift Patrol, Special Operations, and CID. In 2019, Scott was promoted to captain, overseeing the Administrative, Patrol, and CID divisions.
Scott resides in Fayetteville with his wife and three children.
