First wolf depredation in Routt County marks 10th in Colorado this year
DENVER (KDVR) — A calf was killed by a gray wolf in Routt County on Sunday, marking the first report of its kind in the county and the 10th wolf depredation incident so far in 2024.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife confirmed the incident. A wolf activity map published by CPW has indicated wolf activity in at least some parts of Routt County since reporting began in December 2023, but no wolf depredation incidents had been reported there before June 16.
