Fond du Lac voters choose newcomers for city council in spring election. Here's who won in all area races
FOND DU LAC — Fond du Lac County voters have spoken, and many new faces are set to appear in area leadership.
The polls closed at 8 p.m. April 2, and county precincts reported in by about 9:30 p.m., with unofficial results from both absentee and in-person ballots tallied.
With 16,112 ballots cast, the county voter turnout was 28% of registered voters, according to county clerk Lisa Freiberg.

Fond du Lac City Council
Four of the seven Fond du Lac City Council seats were up for reelection, with Jane Ricchio, Thomas Schuessler and Brett Zimmerman running to keep their seats. Ken Cassaday opted not to run again.
Two other candidates were newcomers Antonio Godfrey and Angela Luehring.
Zimmerman and Schuessler will keep their seats, with Luehring and Godfrey gaining the remaining seats.
The votes broke down as follows:
Brett Zimmermann received 3,257 votes
Thomas Schuessler received 3,096 votes
Angela Luehring received 2,854 votes
Antonio Godfrey received 2,465 votes
Jane Ricchio received 2,461 votes

Fond du Lac County Board
While all Fond du Lac County Board seats were up for election, only districts 3 and 19 were contested.
In District 3, incumbent Karen Madigan will keep her seat with 528 votes to Jim Will's 170 votes.
In District 19, Tom Herlache won with 241 votes to incumbent John Zorn's 192 votes.
Fond du Lac School District Board
Two candidates ran for two open seats on the Fond du Lac School District Board.
Incumbent Mark Henschel received 4,925 votes and incoming member Joe Lavrenz received 3,956. Both will serve on the board.
Village of Brandon trustee
Jack Meyer and Richard L. Vollbrecht competed for the village of Brandon trustee two-year term seat.
Vollbrecht won with 87 votes to Meyer's 74 votes.
Village of St. Cloud trustee
Five people ran for three seats as village of St. Cloud trustee: Ryan Birschbach, David B. Schry, Melissa Bink, Adam J. Puetz and Matt Householder.
Bink, Schry and Puetz won the seats on election night.
Here's how the votes broke down:
Bink received 107 votes.
Schry received 84 votes.
Puetz received 79 votes.
Birschbach received 61 votes.
Householder received 36 votes.
Ripon Area School District Board
The Ripon Area School District Board had five candidates for four seats: Lori Machmueller, Shannon Lampe, Kelly Nielsen, Denise K. Martinez and Katie Grady.
Here's how the votes broke down:
Martinez received 854 votes.
Machmueller received 844 votes.
Grady received 813 votes.
Nielsen received 788 votes.
Lampe received 425 votes.
Rosendale-Brandon School District Board
Rosendale-Brandon School District Board had two people running for the seat representing the Brandon area: Jack Meyer and Mandy Lemmenes.
Lemmenes won with 482 votes to Meyer's 392 votes.
Waupun Area School District Board
Both Waupun Area School District Board races were contested, drawing voters from both Fond du Lac and Dodge Counties.
Karen Gibbs won the School Board Member Representing At-Large seat, with 1,452 total votes against competitor Stephen Chené's 548 votes.
Jodi Schultz won the School Board Member Representing the City of Fox Lake and Towns of Fox Lake and Westford seat. She had 1,201 total votes to competitor Rebecca L. Droessler Mersch's 549 votes.

School District of Lomira Board
The School District of Lomira Board Zone 3 seats represent the school district area that falls in the towns of Leroy and Lomira in Dodge County and the town of Ashford in Fond du Lac County.
Brenda Michels won the first open seat with 838 total votes, including Dodge County votes. Robert Wondra will fill the remaining seat with 591 votes.
Kristen Mielke received 551 votes.
School District of New Holstein
Two seats were open on the School District of New Holstein Board, with Craig Sesing getting the most total votes at 1,236, including Calumet County votes, followed by Jodie Goebel in the remaining seat with 1,154 votes.
Rose Petrie received 949 votes.
Town of Waupun referendum question
Town of Waupun voters faced referendum question, "Shall the person holding the office of Treasurer in the Town of Waupun be appointed by the town board?"
133 voters chose yes, with 84 voters choosing no.
When is the next election?
Fond du Lac County residents will get another chance to vote Aug. 13 for the partisan primary.
That primary will select candidates for partisan roles like representatives and senators in Congress and Madison to be on the ballot in November.
Nov. 5, in addition to the partisan roles in the primary, voters will decide who will be the next president of the United States.
