(WJW) — Northeast Ohio experienced its fair share of wild weather this week. A recap of the severe weather on Tuesday and the flooding rain on Thursday can be found at the end of the forecast discussion.

Luckily, the weather looks much quieter this weekend.

More intense weather hit NE Ohio overnight — water rescues, flooded highways and more

A cold front moved through the area late Friday morning into early Friday afternoon. This front pushed any lingering rain showers east of the area. The clouds have started to clear from west to east across the area.

Gusty northwest winds and drier air is moving in behind the front. It will start to feel much more comfortable outside Friday evening.

The gusty northwest winds will make Lake Erie rather choppy. A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY will be in effect through late Saturday night.

Friday night will be mostly clear to partly cloudy, with overnight lows in the upper 50s to near 60s. The drop in the humidity will help those who are still without power from Tuesday’s storms.

It is going to be a refreshing summer weekend. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will be in the mid-70s, which is below normal for the middle of August.

With cooler air moving over Lake Erie, a few light lake-effect rain showers cannot be ruled out, mainly in the snowbelt area. A bulk of the weekend will be dry.

The weather looks great for the first Browns preseason game on Saturday and the FOX 8 FOX TROT on Sunday!
