Fort Bragg announces Fort Liberty July 4 performers, and they're both national acts

Grammy award-winning musician Sheryl Crow will headline the Fort Liberty July 4 celebration this year while Gavin DeGraw will open, according to the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.

It’ll be the first performances to follow Fort Bragg’s June 2 redesignation to Fort Liberty, said Command Sgt. Maj. Gregory Seymour, the senior enlisted adviser for Fort Bragg’s garrison.

“These are probably our biggest celebrities that we've had here, at least under the new name,” Seymour said during a phone interview Wednesday. “People should try to get here early, because roads, especially All American, will probably be backed up.”

Sheryl Crow performs at "Love Rising," a benefit concert for the Tennessee Equality Project, Inclusion Tennessee, OUTMemphis, and The Tennessee Pride Chamber, at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville in March. Crow will headline the Fourth of July celbration at Fort Liberty.

The concert and July 4 events are free and open to the public.

Non-Department of Defense identification cardholders must obtain a visitor pass from All American gate. The passes will begin being issued 30 days in advance of the event.

In past years, the celebration has usually started about 3 p.m. at the Main Post Parade Field, 25 Capron St.

Crow is a 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominee who’s crossed over into multiple music genres during the 90s and 2000s.

Among her 1990s hits are “All I Wanna Do,” “If It Makes You Happy,” “Every Day is a Winding Road” and “My Favorite Mistake.”

She also recorded the 2002 hit “Soak Up the Sun.”
