Addressing the gathered crowd in costume, Jones said: “You haven’t seen anything because we’ve been indoors, which shows you are true committed fans of the show and we hope that you won’t be disappointed on Christmas Day, when all will be revealed.
“This is our farewell now to Barry and to Trinity Street, so you won’t be seeing us here anymore but we’ve had a wonderful 17 years. It’s been fantastic.”
Corden added: “Thank you very much to everyone. We’ll see you soon.”
Meanwhile, filming photos recently emerged teasing a wedding in the finale, with Corden, Page, Mathew Horne (Gavin) and others seen dressed in attire.

It comes after a big cliffhanger in the 2019 special in which Nessa proposed to Smithy – though his answer is yet to be revealed.
The 2024 special was confirmed in May this year following rumours, with news of a one-off episode first reported back in February.
Last month, Corden confirmed that he was “off to Barry Island now for the next 7 weeks” after finishing his run in The Constituent at London's Old Vic Theatre.
He previously revealed that filming would take place around September and October, while also teasing the episode on Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
"We don't really want to give it to anybody unless we feel like it's... So we have to make a few more trims and a few little adjustments. But I'm very excited to share it with people," he said.
Gavin & Stacey series 1-3 are available to stream on BBC iPlayer. The Gavin & Stacey 2024 Christmas Special will air on Christmas Day on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
