Fans of Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid will recognize Zachary Gordon as the actor for Greg Heffley, the titular 'wimpy kid' of the series. Gordon portrayed Greg Heffley for three movies of the franchise.
Gordon has also acted in various television shows, featuring in episodes of How I Met Your Mother, Desperate Housewives, All Of Us, and Last Man Standing.
With acting in films and TV shows, Gordon has also done a lot of voice acting. Besides getting cast as Tighnari, Zachary Gordon had voiced for cartoon shows like Robot Chicken, Special Agent Oso, Ni Hao Kai-Lan, Afro Samurai: Resurrection, and Star Wars: Rebels, as well as debuting in voice acting for games as Hayner in Kingdom Hearts III.
Gordon said in a post on his personal Twitter account that he is "honoured and proud to be a part of the Genshin family".
Gordon will be replacing Elliot Gindi as Tighnari's English voice actor. Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse removed Gindi from his role in February after claims of sexual harassment and abuse against the voice actor surfaced.
"After communications with the voice recording agency, we hereby confirm that Elliot Gindi, the English voice actor for Tighnari will no longer be voicing the character in subsequent versions due to a breach of contract," HoYoverse said in a statement at the time.
The allegations against Gindi included abusive behavior and grooming of underaged fans, which was met by condemnation by the Genshin Impact community and calls to remove him from his role.
The new voice acting for Tighnari done by Gordon will come with Genshin Impact version 3.6, which also features the debuts of new characters Baizhu and Kaveh alongside a new area and bosses.
After version 3.6 comes version 3.7, which will see the debut of new character Kirara and is expected to be released in late May.
