If Gov. Andy Beshear is Kamala’s VP pick, Trump’s JD Vance should watch out
With Joe Biden out of the 2024 presidential race, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is again in the spotlight — this time as a possible No. 2 on the Democratic ticket with Vice President Kamala Harris.
There had been talk of Beshear for the presidency, but with Biden endorsing Harris, the conversation quickly shifted to Beshear as vice president. The Courier Journal asked readers for their thoughts, and many of the responses came from people across the nation.
Here's what some of them said:
J. D. Vance doesn't stand a chance against Beshear
Should the well-qualified Andy Beshear be chosen to run for vice president, J. D. Vance better run for his life from a debate. Vance walked all over Appalachian folk to get where he is. Beshear walks with what people need.
—Laurence Smelser, Baltimore, Maryland
Beshear is a good Democrat and a good Christian
Please choose Andy Beshear as Kamala Harris’ vice president. He is a good Democrat, and he and his wife are both deacons of their church. You get the rust belt and good Christians. That could be a winning ticket.
—Carole Glosenger, San Francisco, Calif.
Beshear a stellar choice in battle to beat Trump
I think Andy Beshear would be a stellar choice for Kamala Harris' VP. I've watched his career for a long time and find him an impressive and qualified young man. He's won several races and could help the ticket coming from the state of Kentucky. I think he would be a strong help toward our victory. Beating Trump is our goal, and I back Beshear as VP.

Why Andy Beshear should be the next VP
Andy Beshear's combination of crisis management skills, commitment to bipartisanship, focus on health care and education, economic vision, and ethical governance make him an outstanding candidate for the vice presidency of the United States. His ability to connect with voters, work across party lines, and lead with integrity positions him as a unifying figure capable of addressing the complex challenges facing the nation. In selecting Andy Beshear as vice president, the United States would gain a dedicated public servant ready to help steer the country toward a more prosperous, equitable and united future.

Kamala Harris would be lucky to have Beshear
Yes! I think Andy Beshear would be an outstanding VP! Kamala Harris would be lucky to have him! He is so sincere and likable and maybe most importantly not arrogant or egotistical!!! I am not related nor have I ever even met him. But have been very impressed with his decisions and actions as governor!!!

Beshear is the only one who will beat Trump
I do a lot of research and came up with Andy Beshear three weeks ago. He has the personality, ethics. Qualifications. Speaks well and is polished, genuine and will win people over. He is a natural. He is the ONLY ONE THAT WILL BEAT TRUMP. He will destroy Trump in the debate.I will offer my help. Time is of the essence. Pls ACT SOON!

Beshear a great candidate for the 'puppet masters'
Gov. Beshear is a dark horse, but darker still are the Republicans that backed his election in Kentucky. He rides the fence, and I feel he has no real convictions about anything, which makes him an outstanding candidate for the puppet masters.
—Maximo Gomez, Corbin, Ky.
Beshear has been my top pick
I absolutely think he should be the vice president pick, as a matter of fact Beshear was my top pick to replace Biden had it not taken Biden so long to drop out.
—Hobert Michael McKinney, Berea, Ky.
Beshear is a 'man for the people'
I think Gov. Beshear should run for president. Most definitely for vice president if he does not want to be the president. He is the Man for the People! I would hate to see him leave Kentucky. BUT I WOULD LOVEEEEE TO SEE HIM IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
