Grand Isle remains under the boil water advisory.

GRAND ISLE, La. (WGNO) — Parts of Jefferson Parish are under a boil advisory due to a broken water main.

As a result of the break, residents in Grand Isle and the Privateer side of Barataria are being advised to boil their water after a loss in water pressure.

Officials with the Louisiana Department of Health and the Jefferson Parish Water Department said bacteriological samples are being collected from the distribution center to be analyzed.

Residents are advised not to drink the water without boiling it for one full minute. Until the water is disinfected, LDH officials say do not make ice, brush teeth, or bathe until the water is deemed safe.
