Grow Dat Youth Farm reaches location agreement with City Park Conservancy
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — City Park Conservancy announced it has reached an agreement with Grow Dat Youth Farm to keep the program in its current location at City Park.
According to the City Park Conservancy, the agreement will take effect on Sept. 1 and allow Grow Dat to keep its program at its current seven-acre location in the park in exchange for facility usage fees and programming contributions.

The agreement follows concerns regarding the park’s master plan, which included the installation of a road that would intersect Zachary Taylor Drive and Henry Thomas Drive and, in turn, displace the farm.
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, the City Park Conservancy announced the agreement, noting they will collaborate with Grow Dat in the design process of paths in non-exclusive areas near the farm.

The agreement was approved at a Monday board meeting.
“Our leadership programs exist to give young people the tools to have hard conversations and to advocate for themselves and their community,” said Grow Dat Co-Director Julie Gable. “We are so proud and grateful for the way these young people and our community have shown up, and for the productive dialogue we have been able to have with CPC to secure Grow Dat’s future as a farm and convening place for years to come.”
