The Harris-Walz campaign is catering directly to Swifties with its latest product drop. On Tuesday, Taylor Swift announced her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris on Instagram following her debate with former President Donald Trump.

The endorsement came only hours before Harris’ official store uploaded the Harris-Walz friendship bracelet to its site ($20), evoking the viral handmade beaded bracelets Swifties have traded throughout the singer’s “Eras” tour. All proceeds from the Harris-Walz friendship bracelet will go to the Harris Victory Fund.

In her Instagram post, Swift encouraged her fans to inform themselves about both candidates ahead of the presidential election on Nov. 5.

“If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country,” she began.

The singer also responded to claims she had endorsed Trump after an AI photo of Swift was posted to his social media site, Truth Social, last month. In the digitally generated image, Swift is dressed as Uncle Sam with a caption reading, “Taylor Wants You to Vote for Donald Trump.”

“It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” Swift continued. “It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

Swift went on to describe Harris as a “steady-handed, gifted leader” who can lead with “calm, not chaos.”

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election,” she wrote. “I’m voting for Kamala Harris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them….I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate Tim Walz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

Swift concluded her message by telling her fans to register to vote, dropping a link to vote.gov in her Instagram Story. In an obvious swipe at Trump’s vice presidential pick, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, the singer signed her message “Childless Cat Lady.” In a 2021 interview with Fox News, Vance described prominent women in the Democratic party as “childless cat ladies,” a comment that has followed him throughout the campaign.

The pre-concert bracelet making trend, which has since gone viral, is inspired by Swift’s song “You’re on Your Own, Kid” from her studio album “Midnights.” “So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it / You’ve got no reason to be afraid,” part of the song’s lyrics read.

The Harris-Walz friendship bracelet is available now for preorder, with the expected date of release being Sept. 24.
