Heat Advisory Tuesday, stormier pattern late week & tropics take a snooze.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Another Heat Advisory issued 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Feels-Like temperatures 105-110. Spotty afternoon thunderstorms likely, but rain coverage looks to be hit or miss.

Rain chances will begin to increase by Thursday/Friday as a fleeting cold front washes out across the Gulf Coast.

In the longer range, I’m bringing some good news!

Tropics remain on summer break over the next 7 days with no development expected.

In addition, ‘cooler-than-average’ temperatures likely by late week into next week. Below average in mid-late July?! Yes, that means it will still be in the upper 80s-low 90s. But, we will take it.

Now, the one thing we will need to monitor…as this ‘cold-front’ nears Louisiana by late week-weekend…it will increase daily rain chances.

There will be a localized flash flood risk as enhanced showers & thunderstorms return to the forecast.
