‘Imposters’ Sneak Peek: Maddie Learns That Max Lied To Her
In Season 1, episode 9 of “Imposters,” Maddie (Inbar Lavi) finally finds out that Max (Brian Benben) lied to her about what really happened to their fellow con artist, Sally (Katherine LaNasa).
In a sneak peek from next week’s episode, Maddie calls Richard (Parker Young) to check up on him after she missed six of his calls. Maddie thought that there’s a problem, but it turns out that Richard just wants to tell her that he’s now ready to move on from his previous relationship with her.
“You were right … about me not being in love with you, and being in love with who I was when I was with you,” Richard tells Maddie over the phone. “I talked it out with Max. Max and I are homies. He helped me put some things in perspective. I can still be the man that I want to be without Alice.”

When Maddie expresses surprise that Richard and Max are getting close to one another, Richard reveals that he and Max experienced almost the same kind of breakup.
“Max has got some experience. He just tell me about this story about this chick he’s in love with, same sort of thing,” Richard shares. “Things went down and she betrayed him. He found her in a train station about to leave town, but he had to give her up.”
Although Max didn’t tell Richard the details of his recent failed relationship, Maddie is pretty sure that the girl Max was referring to was Sally.
In Season 1, episode 5, Max surrendered Sally to Lenny Cohen (Uma Thurman) after the former killed Gary Heller (Aaron Douglas) and attempted to run away with the businessman’s money. Towards the end of the episode, Maddie asked Max what would happen to Sally. But instead of telling Maddie that he had already given her up to The Doctor (Ray Proscia), Max told Maddie that Sally is still at large.
The truth about Sally shakes Maddie to her core, because she probably realizes that if Max can give up the woman he loves, then it would be a lot easier for him to betray her and the Bumblers.
Also in next week’s episode, according to the installment’s synopsis, Patrick (Stephen Bishop) tries to seal a deal with Ezra (Rob Heaps); and Jules (Marianne Rendon) has a surprise encounter with someone.
“Imposters” Season 1, episode 9, titled “Ladies and Gentlemen, the Doctor Is In,” airs on Tuesday, April 4 at 10 p.m. EST on Bravo.
