HBO and the BBC have renewed Industry for a fourth season.

Following former Game of Thrones star Kit Harington joining the drama series for its third season, co-creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay's show has been picked up for more episodes.

The exciting announcement comes ahead of Industry's season three UK premiere on Tuesday, October 1, first on BBC iPlayer from 6am and later on TV at 10.40pm.

Industry returned to HBO in the US in August and is set to release the season three finale on Sunday, September 29.

Mickey Down and Konrad Kay said in a statement on Thursday (September 19): "We are beyond thrilled and grateful to HBO, the incredible team at Bad Wolf and our phenomenal cast and crew for their continued belief in Industry and for allowing us to grow as creators, writers and now directors whilst taking the show to new heights.

"We can’t wait to dive deeper and deliver the best season yet in season four."

Industry executive producer Jane Tranter celebrated the "extraordinary journey" of the show from its commission eight years ago to its critical acclaim over three seasons.

"HBO’s unswerving belief in Mickey, Konrad, the cast and the whole creative team at Bad Wolf is a huge vote of confidence in uncertain times," she said.

"This commitment to nurturing new talent and investment in quality programming has resulted in a show we are all exceptionally proud of. Bad Wolf cannot wait to get everyone back to Wolf Studios Wales to take Industry to even greater heights.”

The series follows investment bankers Harper (Myha'la Herrold), Yasmin (Marisa Abela), and Robert (Harry Lawtey) as they navigate the cutthroat world of the London financial industry.

Kit Harington joined Industry for its current season as Sir Henry Muck, the embattled CEO of green energy firm Lumi.

The first two seasons of Industry are available to stream now on the BBC iPlayer. The third season debuts on the iPlayer and BBC One on Tuesday, October 1.
