Kamala Harris returns to Detroit, Flint for campaign events Friday
Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for president, will return to Michigan this week to campaign.
The White House updated Harris' schedule for the week on Tuesday night. The update said that Harris will travel to Michigan from Wisconsin on Thursday following a campaign event in that state.
Then, on Friday, Harris is slated to have campaign events in Detroit and Flint before returning to Washington that day.
The White House update did not include any additional details about any events, including time or place or whether they would be open to the public. However, a website that lists Harris campaign events ? www.mobilize.us ? on Tuesday night included a registration link for a rally in Flint from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
The visit to Michigan, a hotly contested battleground state in this year's election, will be Harris' first since holding a livestreamed event with Oprah Winfrey before a small audience in metro Detroit on Sept. 19. Last week, her opponent, Republican former President Donald Trump, held events in west Michigan and in Warren. Trump's vice presidential running mate, U.S. Sen JD Vance of Ohio, was set to be in Auburn Hills and in Ottawa County in west Michigan on Wednesday.
