Kamala Harris to swing through Michigan several days this week: What's on her agenda

Vice President Kamala Harris is expected in Michigan this week for a few days of campaigning in the battleground where absentee voting is already underway and voters in its biggest city will begin voting early Saturday.
Harris is expected to arrive in Detroit late Monday night. On Tuesday, she is scheduled to join radio host Charlemagne tha God for a conversation in Detroit that will air at 5 p.m. ET on radio stations that broadcast "The Breakfast Club" program, the radio host said in a video promoting the event. Harris will also make a local stop with Black entrepreneurs in Detroit, according to her campaign.
She's scheduled to return to Michigan Friday to make stops in Grand Rapids, Lansing and Oakland County, according to her campaign.
And then on Saturday, she's expected to spend time in Detroit to kick off early voting in the city. Starting Oct. 21, voters in Canton Township and East Lansing will also be able to vote early in-person, according to local clerks' websites. Early voting will begin statewide Oct. 26 and end Nov. 3.
Absentee voting in Michigan has already begun.
Polls show Harris faces a tight race against former President Donald Trump. In the final stretch of the campaign, Harris has called herself "the underdog" in the presidential election.

Since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and Harris launched her last-minute presidential bid, Harris has held two larger campaign rallies in Michigan: one at an airport hangar outside Detroit and another in Flint. She's held smaller events in Michigan to energize union members and leaders supporting her campaign with a stops at a UAW local, a Labor Day event in Detroit and a speech at a Redford Township fire station. Harris also joined Oprah Winfrey for an unusual virtual campaign event with a live audience filmed at a Farmington Hills studio.
