Lara Trump expressed concern for Donald Trump's safety days before shooting

Just three days leading up to the shooting, Lara Trump appeared on a podcast with Sage Steele. The interview discussed everyday life for Lara Trump including working out, taking care of her children or her work with the Republican National Committee. She also discussed Doanld Trump's safety and the Secret Service's work to protect him.

What did Lara Trump say about Donald Trump's safety in the Sage Steel interview?

Steele asked Laura Trump if she ever fears for her father-in-law's safety. Laura Trump responded that the former president doesn't think about it "that much."

"I'm sure the Secret Service go crazy all the time, because he's like, 'I want to go over and say hi to all these people,' and they're like, 'Sir ...'" Lara rump said. "But you know, that's why he is doing it. He wants to connect with people."

Lara Trump went on to say that being personal with voters is one of Donald Trump's strong suits.

"That's where he shines and you really see the true nature of this man," Lara Trump told Steele. "You can put him in any crowd ... It doesn't matter where you send Donald Trump. He is authentic to the core and sometimes to a fault, I think, for some people. And he wants to be out there among people."

Lara said she was very concerned for Donald Trump's safety regardless of whether he is.

"But I think about it a lot, certainly, and I know those of us who are close to him think about it a lot," Lara Trump said.
