Lily Allen and David Harbour's romance: wedding milestone, family plans and unfollowing
The pair tied the knot in 2020
Lily Allen and David Harbour’s relationship got started in the most modern of ways, via a dating app.
The couple caught each other’s eye on Raya – an exclusive app favoured by celebs – with Allen initially thinking that Harbour wasn’t an actor but a “sexy policeman” as he was wearing his Stranger Things uniform.
They went on to tie the knot in 2020 and in September celebrated their third anniversary.
Like many showbiz couples, they have been hit with rumours about their romance.
Allen unfollowed her husband Harbour on Instagram sparking fears of their split.
But the pair put on a united front as they were snapped at a New York Knicks game together this week.
We have a look back at their love story so far.
Meeting on Raya
Allen split from her husband Sam Cooper in 2015 and by 2019 was evidently ready to dip a toe in the dating pool again, as she signed up for Raya.
Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show earlier this year, she said she was scrolling through when she spotted a picture of Harbour dressed as his alter ego, Chief Jim Hopper, and “pressed accept”.
"I didn't know who he was,” she admitted.
“I thought he was just like a sexy policeman from a reality TV show because he was wearing a policeman's uniform. It was a still from Stranger Things. I'd never seen Stranger Things."
Red carpet debut
In January 2019 the pair attended the Bafta Tea Party together, sparking relationship rumours for the first time.
However, fans had to keep guessing because neither star confirmed they were an item.
Instagram official
Things started ramping up later that year and by October, both Allen and Harbour had moved to make things Insta-official.
Allen shared a snap from a sketch that Harbour did on Saturday Night Live, zooming in on his muscly arm and captioning it: “Mine.”
The actor followed suit just days later, posting a cute snap of them at Disneyworld with the caption: “The prince, princess and the parking lot.”
Las Vegas wedding
The pair tied the knot in Las Vegas in September 2020, exchanging vows at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in a ceremony that involved an Elvis Presley impersonator.
Allen wore a 60s-style short white dress and the bride and groom celebrated their union with burgers from popular US fast food chain In-N-Out Burger.
Harbour posted on Instagram: “In a wedding officiated by the king himself, the people’s princess wed her devoted, low born, but kind credit card holder in a beautiful ceremony lit by the ashen skies courtesy of a burning state miles away in the midst of a global pandemic.
“Refreshments were served at a small reception following.”
Family plans
Allen has two daughters with her ex Cooper – Ethel, 11, and Marnie, ten.
But weeks after marrying Harbour she hinted she would like to have a baby with him.
"I think so,” she told The Sunday Times, when asked about the possibly of expanding her brood.
“Especially now Marnie's getting so big. It's like, 'No, my babies!'
However, she added that she was in a “really good place” and said: “I don't know if I'd mess with my hormones, at this particular point.”
Third wedding anniversary
As the couple celebrated their third anniversary in September this year, Smile singer Allen said marrying Harbour was one of the best decisions she’d made.
Sharing a picture from their wedding day, she wrote: “3 years with this guy, 2nd best decision I ever made.
"1st was that dress.”
