LIST: Schools announce Friday early release due to extreme heat
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – After a number of school districts announced early release for students on Thursday due to extreme heat, some schools have announced early release times for students on Friday.
This comes as the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning in effect from noon Thursday to 10 p.m. Friday.

Below is the list of school districts that have announced early releases for Friday.
Portland Public Schools
Three-hour early release for non-air-conditioned buildings Friday. Schools that do have air-conditioning will have a normal schedule. All afternoon activities in non-air-conditioned buildings are also canceled. More information here.
Gervais School District
Students will have early Friday release as they did on Thursday.
Lake Oswego School District
Some Lake Oswego schools will close early on Friday due to heat. All elementary schools except River Grover will be dismissed at 1:15 p.m. and Lake Oswego Middle School will dismiss at 1:25 p.m. Other school schedules will remain the same.
North Clackamas School District
All schools in the North Clackamas School District will be closed on Friday, Sept. 6, with no before or after school care either, according to officials.
Estacada School District
Two-hour early release on Friday.
Oregon Trail School District
Closed on Friday.
Arbor School of Arts and Sciences
Friday release three hours early due to heat.
