Love Island 2024 fans stunned by harsh dumping twist
Love Island spoilers follow.
Love Island fans were left stunned after Maya Jama revealed the latest dumping twist, with one couple being given all the power.
Tuesday’s (July 16) episode saw the Islanders whipped out of the villa for an exclusive VIP party, with Jess Glynne performing a slew of hits at a private party.
The celebrations didn’t last long, however, with host Maya arriving to inform the couples that a compatibility vote had taken place, with the public determining the results.

Nicole and Ciaran were the nation’s favourites, but the mood soon turned sour as Lolly and Konnor, Grace and Reuben, and Jess and Ayo were all placed in the bottom three for compatibility, meaning they were all at risk of elimination.
The twist wasn’t done there, however, with Maya revealing to a surprised Nicole and Ciaran that they would be responsible for who went home.
The twist drew a response from fans on social media, with one X/Twitter user writing: “Ciaran and Nicole having to dump a couple is BRUTAL #loveisland”
“Love island just doesn’t fail to get more and more brutal does it #loveIsland” wrote a second viewer, with a third adding: “Oh damnnnnn a TWIST. Ciaran cant send Ayo home thats his boy. Might have to be New girl & Konnor #loveisland”

The dumping twist wasn't the only surprise of the night, with the party being interrupted by the arrival of two new bombshells, Lola Deluca and Harry Baker.
“I’ve never been in a relationship before and haven’t had any luck whatsoever finding love myself, so I think I could definitely benefit from some Love Island help,” said Lola, a 22-year-old content creator and model from Surrey.
“Love Island is a great opportunity, as it puts you in situations you may not have had the chance to be in, so I’m hoping to get to know people that I may not normally meet. Now also feels like the right time for me, so I’m excited to meet everybody.”

“Being 25, I’m on the wrong side of 20 now,” added Harry, a 25-year-old cabling engineer from Birmingham. “I’m closer to 30 so it’s about time I find a bird and settle down. I’m 6’4 with lots of tattoos, I’m tanned, and I’m funny.
“People tell me I’m funny, anyway, I don’t know whether they’re laughing at me or with me! On nights out, I’m always the first to get attention, and when the girls come over I can keep them there. It’s not just the looks, I’ve got the personality to go with it.”
Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
