Machine Gun Kelly set to perform at Mountaineer game tailgate

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — Grammy-nominated music artist Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) is set to perform at the tailgate before West Virginia University’s football game against Penn State on Saturday.

The show will be in the Almost Heaven Village as part of the Fox Sports Big Noon Kickoff. According to Fox Sports, MGK’s new song “Lonely Road” is inspired by the West Virginia anthem “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” by John Denver.

Fans can arrive as early as 9 a.m. to see the performance which starts at 10 a.m. The Almost Heaven Village, which is located between the Light Blue and Teal lots right outside Milan Puskar Stadium, will also have food trucks, inflatables and other entertainment.

The sold-out WVU home opener is expected to be packed, with hotels around the area near sold out for the night before. And it won’t just be packed on Saturday. On Friday, “The Pat McAfee Show” is broadcasting live from WVU’s Downtown campus, a free event that is expected to be so widely attended that Monongalia County Schools decided to close all schools for that day.
