Man killed in Lower Ninth Ward shooting over weekend
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in the Lower Ninth Ward.
The New Orleans Police Department reported that around 7:03 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11, officers responded to a call of a medical emergency in the 1900 block of Jourdan Avenue. Upon arrival, an unresponsive man was found at the scene with no visible injuries.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene and the incident was labeled as an unclassified death. It was later reclassified as a homicide by shooting by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office.

No further details are available. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 32-year-old Robert Singleton on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
