Paris Hilton, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jhené Aiko, More Celebrities Lose Homes to L.A. Fires
Multiple celebrities have lost their homes as several destructive fires raged in Southern California. After fires broke out on Tuesday and Wednesday, propelled by high winds, Paris Hilton, Jhené Aiko, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Billy Crystal were among the 30,000 residents and multiple celebrities forced to evacuate. Many have lost their homes.
On Thursday, Billy Corgan shared a video of himself, saying he “had to evacuate as a family” from where they were staying. “Praying for everyone today as hopefully this can come under control for the entire area, which is vast in scope and so full of nature,” he wrote. “The loss overall is awful and unspeakable and that is what I wish to highlight; as the fires touch every strata of society.”

Jhené Aiko shared prayers for those who’ve lost their homes, adding that she and her “children’s home is gone, burned to the ground with all of our things inside.” Aiko added, “Lord have mercy. Thankful we still have each other. Starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy.”
Billy Crystal and his wife, Janice, shared in a statement that their home in the Pacific Palisades was destroyed in the blaze. “Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away,” the couple told People. “We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this.”
Beyoncé and Solange’s mom Tina Knowles revealed that her Malibu bungalow burned down in the Palisades fire. “It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred happy place. Now it is gone!! God Bless all the brave men and women in our fire department who risked their lives in dangerous conditions,” she wrote on Instagram.
On Wednesday, Paris Hilton shared that she and her family lost their Malibu home in the Palisades fire.
“Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” Hilton wrote in an Instagram post, going on to say her charity organization has already begun reaching out to other nonprofits to help support those who the wildfires have impacted. “The devastation is unimaginable,” she wrote.
Mark Hamill shared an update on Instagram, confirming that he evacuated from Malibu at 7 p.m. and that it was “so last-minute there were small fires on both sides of the road as we approached PCH.” After confirming that he arrived safely at his daughter’s home in another part of Los Angeles, the Star Wars actor called the blaze the “most horrific fire since ’93” and urged his followers to stay safe.
Moore also evacuated the home she shares with Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith and their children. She wrote in an Instagram story that she was safe with “kids, dogs and cats” and “praying and grateful for the first responders.” Moore later shared a video of Altadena, writing, “I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family.”
James Woods, who lives in one of the affected neighborhoods, live-tweeted a series of updates, including videos of the blaze. On Wednesday, the actor seemed to confirm that his house was lost in the fire, writing, “All the smoke detectors are going off in our house and transmitting to our iPhones. I couldn’t believe our lovely little home in the hills held on this long. It feels like losing a loved one.” He added, “It tests your soul, losing everything at once, I must say.” (On Friday, the actor posted on X that his home was still “standing.” “A miracle has happened,” he wrote.)
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro was also evacuated, according to The Hollywood Reporter, as was actor Eugene Levy. The Schitt’s Creek star told the Los Angeles Times that the “smoke looked pretty black and intense” in the Palisades, where he is the honorary mayor.
On Wednesday, SZA’s longtime producer ThankGod4Cody said he “found out my house got burned down” while on vacation. “Prayers up for everyone affected by the devastating events man,” he wrote on Instagram.
Songwriter Diane Warren revealed on Instagram that her beach house of 30 years was likely “lost in the fire last nite.” She added, “The animals and the rescue ranch are OK tho which is the most important thing.”
The Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt documented themselves evacuating their home on social media. They later shared that their house had burned down. “Update: I’m watching our house burn down on the security cameras,” Pratt said.
Pratt shared screengrabs of his home’s security cameras on Instagram, writing, “The one positive sign i saw as our house burned down was ours sons bed burned in the shape of a heart. A sign of how much love was in this house so thankful for all the years and memories there with our family.”

Jamie Lee Curtis wrote on social media, “My community and possibly my home is on fire. My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes. Many other communities as well… It is a terrifying situation and I’m grateful to the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze. Neighbors have taken care of neighbors.”
Schitt’s Creek actor Eugene Levy evacuated the area early Tuesday, telling The Los Angeles Times, “The smoke looked pretty black and intense over Temescal Canyon … the smoke was very dark.”
Palisades resident Steve Guttenberg went viral for helping with the evacuation efforts in the Palisades. The actor spoke to a KTLA reporter about why he was moving abandoned cars blocking the streets and offered a plea for those fleeing the fire to leave their keys behind. He added, “We got a huge fire up there, we got huge winds right now, and it’s really important for people to help each other. It’s really important for everyone to band together and not worry about your personal property. Just get out. Get your loved ones and get out.”
On Tuesday, the high winds in Southern California fanned several blazes across the Los Angeles area. Pacific Palisades saw a 300-acre fire spread to more than 1,200 acres in a span of 90 minutes, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. About 30,000 residents have been ordered to evacuate, and more than 10,000 homes are threatened by the Palisades fire, said the Los Angeles fire chief. By Tuesday night, the fire had expanded to more than 2,900 acres with no containment, according to KTLA.
This morning, California Gov. Gavin Newsom confirmed that “hundreds of additional firefighters are headed south to join 1,400+ boots already on the ground” to fight multiple fires in the area.
