Marvel superheroes, Nicole Kidman and Kate McKinnon (as Elizabeth Holmes) come to Hulu
More of the Marvel universe is coming to Hulu.
Antihero Robbie Reyes, who is consumed by hellfire, will ride his way to the streaming service in 2020 in "Marvel's Ghost Rider," executive produced by Ingrid Escajeda. "Marvel’s Helstrom" will also premiere next year, following a pair of siblings named Daimon and Ana Helstrom as they track down a serial killer.
They join "Marvel's Runaways," returning for a third season, and several adult animated Marvel series, Hulu executives announced Wednesday at an annual presentation to advertisers.
Nicole Kidman is also coming to Hulu with "Nine Perfect Strangers," based on the New York Times bestseller, in which she'll also star as the director of a health-and-wellness resort helping nine city dwellers. She reteams with her "Big Little Lies" writer David E. Kelley on another project based on a Liane Moriarty novel. (Her "Lies" co-star, Reese Witherspoon, is also readying a Hulu adaptation of Celeste Ng's "Little Fires Everywhere," which also stars Kerry Washington.)
Chrissy Teigen is partnering with celebrity chef David Chang and Vox Media on several "food-centric" shows for Hulu.
And "Saturday Night Live" star Kate McKinnon is also confirmed to star in new miniseries "The Dropout," about disgraced Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes.
The streaming service, which now counts 28 million subscribers, has also renewed critically acclaimed freshman series "Pen15" and "Ramy," joining spring comedy "Shrill" on the returning-shows list.
