As the festival season starts to heat up (and so does the temperature), make sure to mark your calendars for Mequon’s Gathering on the Green music festival from July 7-10.

The festival has been hosted at Mequon Rotary Park for more than 25 years, according to the event website. Each night will have food trucks and beverage stations. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets.

Tickets can be purchased at GatheringOnTheGreen.org.

Thursday, July 7: ‘Let it ring’

The festival kicks off with a USA-themed night. Bruce in the USA will headline, playing Bruce Springsteen covers. The Milwaukee Tool Shed Band will also be on stage.

The concert will begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free for veterans and first responders, and $25 for anyone else.

Friday, July 8: ‘Roots & boots’

Friday night will see Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye, Aaron Tippin and guest Matt Wynn performing on stage at 8 p.m. in Mequon Rotary Park. These four are sure to deliver, from soulful ballads to boot-stomping hits.

Sammy Kershaw is known for songs such as "She Don't Know She's Beautiful," and Collin Raye sings ballads such as "In This Life." For Aaron Tippin, audience members can expect to hear songs such as "You've Got To Stand For Something."

General admission is $40 and parking is $25 in advance or $30 on the day of the concert. The general parking lot can be accessed by the east or west entrances of Rotary Park on West Highland Road. Handicap parking is available at both entrances.

Saturday, July 9: Rock out with 38 Special and Night Ranger

The weekend will come to a head with 38 Special and Night Ranger, two rock groups that will blow away listeners. 38 Special is known for southern rock hits such as "Hold On Loosely" and "Rockin' Into the Night." Night Ranger contrasts with hard rock hits such as 2011's "Somewhere in California."

General admission is $40, and parking is $25 in advance. Reserved seating is $50-$125.

Sunday, July 10: ‘Rise and shine in the park’

Danny Gokey will headline the final day in the park. He is a Christian singer and former American Idol finalist from Milwaukee. Gokey will take the stage at noon Sunday.

General admission is $33, and parking is free. Gates open at 10:30 a.m. and the venue will host food trucks, beverages and family activities.
