MIAMI, Okla. — Miami Police Chief Thomas Anderson was reinstated on Monday.

Miami police chief placed on administrative leave pending investigation

Melinda Stotts, Director of Communications, confirmed Anderson’s return.

The City of Miami placed Anderson on administrative leave in July pending the outcome of an investigation into his alleged official misconduct.

Citing personnel confidentially, Stotts said she could not offer more details.

“I’m glad to be back,” Anderson said.

Anderson said he appreciated the support of the community and the Miami Police Department force during the investigation and the city’s due diligence into the investigation.

Anderson has been with the Miami Police Department for 29 years and served as Miami Police Chief for nine years.
