She was raised by one of the most influential pop icons of the 1980s, and now she’s paying tribute to another. On Tuesday, Paris Jackson — the flashy, free-spirited daughter of the King of Pop — unveiled a purple mane in honor of Prince, who died in April. She captioned the candid shot, “side affects to dancing in the purple rain for too long include stained hair.” Her hand shows a tattoo (possibly temporary) of the love symbol the musician used when he went by the Artist Formerly Known as Prince.

The day before, she posted a tribute to another musical legend: David Bowie — from his Ziggy Stardust days — who also died this year. And earlier in the day, she showed off her newest hand tattoo: the word “BAD,” in memory of her late father.

Paris isn’t alone in her reverie following the purple one’s sudden death from an opiate overdose. Dame Helen Mirren made waves at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, in May, when she walked the red carpet in a purple dress that revealed a temporary tattoo of the artist’s symbol on her collarbone.

In June, Prince’s ex-wife Mayte Garcia debuted a tattoo in honor of her former flame. In a video posted to her Instagram account, the 42-year-old dancer had the love symbol inked on her arm in a tribal-like design. “This makes me smile and cry… Love is eternal!! Will remember that every time I look at my hand,” she captioned the photo.

And it wasn’t just stars who got inked in honor of Prince. Non-celebs unveiled some of the funkiest tattoos we’ve seen, including song lyrics, purple tear drops, and a dove crying in tribute to one of the star’s most famous tunes.

Other stars paid musical tribute to Prince. In a video for W magazine, such stars as Chris Evans, Elle Fanning, and Cindy Crawford performed their favorite Prince songs. And Madonna took to the stage at the Billboard Music Awards to perform an over-the-top homage to her ’80s pop peer. When the tribute came under fire on Instagram, Madonna hit back by posting her purple presence with the caption “Deal with It!”
