Morgantown prepares for Penn State game

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — Saturday’s sold-out game against No. 8 Penn State is sparking a lot of excitement as well as economic activity for Morgantown.

Penn State leads the series with West Virginia University which dates back to 1904. The Mountaineers are looking for their first win in the rivalry since 1988, but most WVU fans will tell you to throw the record book out the window.

At a sign-making event, WVU Freshman Parker Green was making a sign that read, “Save a couch, burn a Nittany Lion.” Green told 12 News, “I think Penn State is walking into a hornet’s nest honestly.”

The lead-up to the game is impressive in itself. On Friday, WVU alum and sports analyst Pat McAfee is filming his show on campus. On Saturday morning, Machine Gun Kelly is performing at the Almost Heaven Village tailgate. All of this activity is proving good for local businesses.

“We’re very, very excited, and our staff is getting ready for it,” Titus said.

Whether you’re watching the game at the pub, at Milan Puskar, or on your couch at home, Saturday is sure to be a day of fun.
