Near record temperatures continue in Kern, some relief on the horizon

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Dangerous heat continues in Kern Wednesday with a high of 110.

Expect a high of 112 on Thursday, which looks to surpass Bakersfield’s daily record of 111 set back in 2021.

Friday is just as hot, but then the ridge finally looks to move east for good this weekend. That will allow temperatures to slowly fall, but stay in those hot 100s. Expect a high of 109 in Bakersfield on Saturday, with 106 on Sunday and 103 Monday. And so, the heatwave continues.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and take care of each other and outdoor animals.
