Nike Confirms It Will Resume Tom Sachs Partnership in 2025 — Including the Highly Anticipated Mars Yard 3.0

Nike has confirmed it’ll resume its partnership with Tom Sachs, who was accused last year of creating a “destabilizing and scary” work environment, and begin to release collaborative sneakers with the artist again in 2025.
“[Sachs] has demonstrated and recommitted to fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity,” Nike said in a statement provided to Footwear News. “We can confirm that our work with Tom will continue and this next chapter of Nikecraft will uphold our shared passion for team, product and storytelling excellence. More details to come in 2025.”
In his own statement, Sachs said: “I’m honored that we will continue to build together as a Nikecraft team and community. The Mars Yard 3.0 is in its final stage of development and is currently being wear-tested. I’m excited to share more soon.”
Brendan Dunne of Complex first broke the news in a post to Twitter/X.
Nike paused its partnership with Sachs last year after he was accused of creating an inappropriate work environment in his New York City studio. A March 2023 investigation from Curbed revealed allegations that Sachs had named a basement storage room the “rape room,” made comments to his employees related to sex and their appearance, threw objects near his subordinates and appeared in a Zoom call with female Nike employees in his underwear, among a number of other troubling allegations.
In its initial response, Nike said it is “deeply concerned by the very serious allegations,” adding, “We are in contact with Tom and his studio, seeking to better understand the situation and how these issues are being addressed.” The company later said in May, “We are not working with Tom’s studio at this time and have no release dates planned.”
Sachs published two letters of apology, one of which had previously been issued to his employees. While expressing his “regret that anyone, ever, felt less than supported, safe and fulfilled” and promising to create a better studio culture, Sachs maintained that many of the allegations were “false and misleading.”
Sachs’ Nike Mars Yard 2.0 sneaker is one of the celebrated sneaker releases of all-time, and his General Purpose Shoe was well received with three colorways releasing in 2022 and 2023 prior to the scandal. Several unreleased colorways for the General Purpose Shoe have surfaced and could be slated to drop in 2025 as well.
Just this month, Nike also released a close lookalike to the General Purpose Shoe in the C1ty model.
