NOPD looking for suspect in Mid-City dog food fight

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify and arrest a suspect who is accused of battling with a worker while stealing dog food from a feed store. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.

According to police, it happened at 12:45 in the afternoon on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Jefferson Feed located in the 300 block of North Carrollton Avenue. The NOPD released some security camera footage from the store that shows much of the incident.

In the video, a man is seen pushing a shopping cart toward the store’s exit. According to police, the man failed to pay for four bags of dog food.

Also in video, a store worker is seen confronting the man and trying to prevent him from taking the items.

Moments later, the man is able to exit the store with at least two bags of Purina dog food, according to police, and left the scene in a black SUV.
