One person dead in Causeway Boulevard crash
METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — One person is dead following a North Causeway Boulevard crash that occurred on Friday afternoon.
According to a report from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened in the 3100 block of North Causeway Boulevard and involved a Hyundai Sonata and a Ford Mustang.

Witnesses reportedly indicated that the driver of the Mustang appeared to lose control and drive onto the highway after leaving a parking lot. The car crossed the southbound lanes of North Causeway Boulevard, went over the median and hit the Sonata, which was traveling in the northbound lanes.
Both drivers were taken to local hospitals due to their injuries. The driver of the Sonata was declared dead several hours later.
The identity of the deceased driver will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.
