One dead, two wounded in Marigny shooting: NOPD

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Officers with the New Orleans Police Department are investigating a shooting that left a man dead and two others wounded in the Marigny on Sunday, July 28.

The NOPD reported officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 1700 block of Joseph Guillaume Place around 1 p.m., where they found 31-year-old man Khristopher Lewis, an 11-year-old boy and a 64-year-old man suffering with gunshot wounds.

NOPD officials said the Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene. The 11-year-old boy and 64-year-old man were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

NOPD officials said the 11-year-old was last reported to be in stable condition, and the 64-year-old was last reported to be in critical condition.

According to the NOPD, “It is still being investigated if the deceased man was the intended target.”
