New Orleans Police Department welcomes recruit class 201 to the force
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department welcomed seven new officers from recruit class 201 to the force in a graduation ceremony on Friday, Sept. 20.
The ceremony was held at L.B. Landry High School.

The recruits said with how tough the academy can be, the newest officers are proud they can now begin serving the city.
“To be able to overcome each of those obstacles, I feel very proud very proud because a lot of people don’t make it through the Academy because it is very challenging is very hard and you have to find that in the strength within yourself to be able to prove pull through and keep going. You just can’t give up on yourself,” said Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick.
The graduation ended in true New Orleans fashion with a second line led by Kirkpatrick.
