Owners rescue their dogs as Houston plunges into chaos
South Texas residents, fleeing Hurricane Harvey’s floodwaters, have done their best to rescue their canine companions.
Facing rising sea levels and a never-ending torrent of rain, Texans have taken to hoisting their dogs above their shoulders while marching to safety.

Not all the pups have been able to flee with their families. As with Hurricane Katrina, several dogs separated from their owners have been rescued by first responders. In a touching story, a storm chaser found a lost dog, Cash, and ended up returning him to his owner.
