Plane misses runway, prompts investigation in Mariposa County
MARIPOSA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A small plane in Mariposa County caused an incident on Thursday after it was found in the brush several hundred feet away from the Mariposa-Yosemite Airport, in the community of Mount Bullion.
Officers with the Mariposa County Sherriff’s Office say they responded to the area after receiving reports of a possible plane crash.

Once at the scene, deputies say they located the pilot and his passenger who walked away from the plane with no injuries. Pictures from the scene show the plane off the runway.
At this time it is unknown whether the plane had any malfunctions to prompt the emergency landing. The Sheriff’s Office says the incident will be turned over to the FAA for further investigation.
