Prichard police investigating 2 homicides on the same day

PRICHARD, Ala. (WKRG) — The Prichard Police Department is investigating after two homicides happened on the same day, News 5 has learned.

Officials with the PPD shared the following information about the homicides that happened on Sunday, June 30.

Spanish Fort murder-suicide under investigation

The first homicide reportedly happened around 6:19 p.m. at a gas station located at 200 Meaher Avenue.

LOCATION:

  • According to officials, the homicide happened after three people between the ages of 17 and 20 met at a store, and an argument broke out.

  • One male was shot and killed in the incident that police believe involved five people.

The second homicide happened around 10 p.m. on Allenby Street near Elm Street.

LOCATION:

  • The PPD says the incident happened in the middle of the neighborhood.

  • There is no indication of what led up to the homicide, according to officials.

4 arrested in Baldwin County, charged with manslaughter after overdose death

Police say that the victims in both homicides were believed to have known each other but could not confirm if the incidents were related.

There have been no arrests in the incidents, although the PPD said they believe they have potential suspects.
