How to get a replica of Johnny Cash’s guitar
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (KTAL/KMSS) – Gibson is releasing two extremely limited-edition guitars that will honor the musical legacies of Johnny Cash and his daughter Roseanne.
Johnny Cash SJ-200
The Johnny Cash SJ-200 from Gibson Custom in Vintage Cherry Sunburst celebrates Johnny Cash’s impact on country, rockabilly, blues, rock and roll, folk, and gospel music.
Johnny Cash sold more than 90 million records and was inducted into many halls of fame, including the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, the Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and the Memphis Music Hall of Fame.
He won 13 Grammy awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, nine Country Music Association Awards, a Kennedy Center Honor, and a National Medal of Arts.
Gibson made two SJ-200s for Cash during the late 1950s, and now you can own a recreation of his guitars.
A Johnny Cash Custom hardshell guitar case is also included, and only 100 of these gorgeous instruments have been made by expert luthiers at Gibson Custom in Bozeman, Montana.
Roseanne Cash J-185
The Roseanne Cash J-185 celebrates her 15 albums, four Grammy awards, and more than a fist-full of additional nominations.
Roseanne Cash is one of only a few women who have been admitted into the Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. She won the Edward MacDowell Medal for her contributions to American culture, and she was the first woman composer in history to receive the medal.
Roseanne Cash’s music evokes sounds of folk, pop, Americana, rock, and the blues. And because her music heads in man different directions, she needs a guitar that can do the same.
The Gibson Custom Shop Roseanne Cash J-185 is a musical collaboration between Roseanne and Gibson Custom. It has a maple body, a Sitka spruce top, and a mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. There are also mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays.
Only 100 of these incredible guitars have been made to honor this unique musician.
